I've been eating better...

On our cruise a few months ago we saw a comedian who said, "Singles girls are skinnier than married girls. It's true, they are." We all laughed and nodded in agreement, and I have thought about that a few times since then. It is so true, something about getting married and being happy and content in my life - I have gotten a little bit curvier over the past 3 1/2 years. I mean, who wouldn't like to lose a few pounds, but, my husband loves me and all my curves and I still am healthy, so I don't stress. Too much, anyway.

So, last night Tyler and I were talking about how we have both put on a few pounds since we got married, it's true, we have. I usually cook for him (not at all yesterday, but usually), he loves to eat, it's all good. So he tells me he's been eating "better" and naturally, I think he has been watching what he eats and "better" to me means eating healthier, right? No...he meant that he is eating "better" as in he eats more now and more regularly than he did before we got married.

I am sitting there proccessing this information as I think about what he had for dinner, French Toast (I did not partake and I did not prepare). Four pieces of bread, soaked in three eggs and fried in butter, then slavered in more butter and coated with syrup....YUM, but not "better." Then I think about his late night snack, when he came home from basketball, 2 Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches. At this point I am already giggling at his idea of "better" and I ask what he had for breakfast, 4 pieces of toast and four scrambled eggs. HAHAA - BETTER! So I add it up in my head and tell him that he had 7 eggs and TWELVE pieces of bread (almost a whole loaf on his own) yesterday and he says, "But I had a real healthy lunch! Blackened Tilapia." Haaa, like that makes a difference. That's like the women that get a Diet Coke with thier Quarter Pounder at McDonalds. The only thing that does make a difference is that he has the fastest metabloism of anyone I know and he plays full court basketball for 3 hours a couple times a week.

I guess if I can start running at a full sprint for 3 hours a day I can start eating "better" like I did when I was single. Oh well, single girls are skinnier than married girls and that is likewise for the boys. :)

PS - I have a super hottie husband and I am not complaining. Not even a little!

New Post

I haven't put a new post on here in over 6 months - I am SORRY! I know, I know, I have done this before, but I hope you all can forgive again! :) I get a little behind with posting, then I feel so guilty about not having posted that I don't want to post anything and then...AHH! The cycle is vicious!
So, since July 5th - Life has been happening, as we all know that is what life does.
I started back to school in August, teaching 8th grade reading, no more special education.
I had a stomach bug for Halloween, so I didn't get to dress up. Boooooo, not Boo!
We had a very thankful Thanksgiving with our families.
Tyler got a promotion and a raise and we said, Thank you LORD!
We went on a cruise with some HILARIOUS friends.
We had a spectacular Christmas with friends and families and we got a new computer!
We went on our annual deer camp trip (where we don't actually hunt) for New Years.
We started off the year like any other with resolutions and good intentions.
Our biggest plan for this year is to start a family! Please be praying that God would grant us a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby! (NO...we are not pregnant yet! I must clarify for some of you that are going to imply meaning into that, it is just something we want and are praying for!)
And now, here we are, January is almost over and 2010 is FLYING by!
Anyway - I will try to be better! Here are some pics from the past few months to catch you up.
PS - It is much more motivating for me to ACTUALLY post on here, if I get some feedback that people are reading. Just a hint.

Sisterhood of the Wrist Tattoo

A few months ago my sister DeeDee got a new tattoo on her wrist and my mom decided she LOVED it. Since then my mom has been trying to talk me and my sister Suzi into getting the same on so we can all match. If it wasn't for the fact that I want a different tattoo in the same spot I probably would have gotten it, but that didn't stop my mom from trying her hardest to persuade me. Eventually my mom and Dee talked Suz into going for the idea, so a few weeks ago we all made a day of it. We met out for lunch and then when to get these bad-boys. Once I saw all of thier wrists together I wanted one so bad! I wanted to be part of the club! I felt like they had an inside joke that I didn't know about and I wanted in! So, I called Tyler and told him I was going to get it and he said, "Whatever, honey - it is your wrist." YEA! I got off the phone, started filling out my paperwork and was getting ready to go. Then, my phone rang...Tyler called me back and reminded me of what I did want and how rash it was to get one because I liked someone elses without thinking about it. So...I didn't get it, I am still trying to decide for sure if I want my other one there and when. But Mom, Suz and Dee - ya'll are rockin' out the sisterhood of the wrist tattoo. I want to be part of the club.

As mom says, "The Williams Girls"

So cute - and a family affair!

High Maintenance Canine

Miss Ava is rediculous. She has always been a little on the high maintenance side of dogs, but she has now crossed the line. Recently she has developed an absurd fear of thunderstorms. She started trying to dig out of her cage and eventually was successful. She ruined her cage and in the process tore up her feet and face pretty bad. Since all this started she has broken 2 teeth, ripped off multiple toe pads, and shredded her toenails, along with the damage to her nose and face. So, now we have had to purchase another kennel (her FOURTH) and spend a mountain of money at the vet repairing her feet and getting medicine, to top it all off she now has to take an anti-anxiety sedative anytime we are not at home and there is a chance of rain. So...great. But, I still totally love her and think she is adorable, I just wish she was take a chill pill, not one I have to pay for either.

Me and Ava in her new monster cage, she has her "I'm sorry" face on.

Just to give you an idea of how large this thing is.

"I love my new cage! My mom and dad can fit in it with me, it makes me feel safe!"

Her new drugs work very very good.

Poor thing can't focus her eyes on anything...notice how they are looking in different directions.
